WEDDINGS.

ANDERSON—THOMPSON

Mr 'Sidney Anderson, son of Mr John Anderson, of Marton, and Miss Geraldine Thompson, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs R. J. Thompson, of Feilding, were married to-day. The wedding, which was officiated over by the Rev. G. Budd, was a quiet one, being celebrated at tho residence of the bride's parents. The bride, who was married in her travelling dress, a brown tailor-made costume, was attended by her sister, Miss Eva Thompson, and Mr Richard Thompson supported the groom as best man. The newly-wedded couple afterwards left for the East Coast, on the honeymoon trip. They are to reside in Feilding.

CARTHEW — RIDDELL

The Rev. A. B. Chappell officiated at tho Wesley Church this morning, wheniEveline Maud, fourth daughter of Mr William Carthew, (who is one of the oldest and nrost respected business men of Feilding), was married to John Cheyne, youngest son of Mr Alexander Riddell, of Aberdeen, Scotland. The bride, who made a dainty , figure, was attired in a gown of ' cream silk taffeta, made in the Empire style, and trimmed with silk insertion. She wore the orthodox veil and orango blossom, and carried a beautiful shower bouquet, a present from the maker, Mrs Bilman. Miss Mabel Carthew, sister of the bride, was chief bridesmaid, and wore a pretty frock of pale grey silk crepe, trimmed with lace and tucked net; her hat was a large pink crinoline and sweet peas. Miss Joyce Darragh. neice of the bride, who was also a bridesmaid, woro pale blue silk crystalline, trimmed with dainty oriental trimming, with a pretty pale blue hat trimmed with forget-me-nots and pink silk buds. Mr J. P. Lindsay, of Wellington, officiated as best man, and Mr B. L. Bagnall, of Auckland, was groomsman. After the ceremony, a reception was held at the residence of the bride's parents, East street, Mrs Carthew receiving her guests in a dress ot black silk, richly trimmed with lace and insertion. Mrs A. E. Bagnall, ot Auckland, aunt of the bride, wore a lovely dress of black satin. After the reception the happy couple left by motor for Palmerston, en route for tho South, where the honeymoon will be spent. They will reside at Island Bay, Wellington. The bridegroom's presents to the bridesmaids were a pearl pendant and chain, and a gold brooch set with olivenes. The presents were numerous and costly, among them being a set of Doul'ton ware from the Wesley Choir, of which the bride was a member. The bride's travelling dress was a molo colour tailor-made costume, and a pale grey hat trimmed with pink j roses. Mrs Riddell made a large number < of friends by her kindly demeanour and useful'work during her residence here and while she was assistant teacher at the Lytton-strect school, who all wish ber happiness and prosperity ia her new sphere of usefulness.
