DER KAISER.
DEFIED ON HIS OWN DECK
A PILOT TURNS HIM DOWN
THE REWARD OF TEMERITY
BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH OOPYBIGHT.
PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION,
Paris, September 24,
The Excelsior states that the Kaiser was aboard the Hohenzollern, the Royal yacht, entering a Norwegian port. He grew impatient at the ship's slowness and telephoned the engineers, ordering an increased speed. Nordhuns, tho old Norwegian pilot, immediately telephoned the engineers to disregard the order.
The Kaiser angrily ordered the pilot to go below.
Nordhuns refused, saying: "The ship is under my direction, and not even an Emperor is going to give me orders.".
The Kaiser quitted the bridge in a passion. Next day he decorated Nordhuns.
