London, June 5. The general Council of the Trans-port-Workers' , Federation• has passed a resolution that in the event of no immediate settlement on the terms de manded, viz., the creation of a joint conciliation board and the re-insi&te-ment of all striicer, the unions affiliated with lie federation would be asked to agree to a national strike being declared.
A Cabinet Council to-day discussed the ituation, and it is expected that the 'Government's policy will be announced in the Koue of Commons tomorrow.
Failing a successful out-come of the Government's efforts to adjust .tihe matters in dispute the propects of a settlement are remote.
