Asked what would happen when the session opened, he replied: "The future is on the lap of the gods, but I believe that every one of the present Ministers will bring mo nearer the goal at which I have been striving for .year's, and that is to get all the sane, sensible,, and really progressive men on one side of theHouse, and to place all faddists, fanatics, and opportunists on the other."
