Our Christmas Supplement.

, To-morrow thero will bo issued with tho Star a Christmas Supplement , that will take some beating even by the city papers for originality and general interest. A great deal r>f

time and attention has been devoted to getting up the stories, poems, articles, and pictures for the Supplement; but when the result is seen, everybody's verdict must be that it is a worth-while publication. It is doubtful whether another paper in the Dominion will produce so much evidence of literary talont as is contained in the Stab, Supplement. Certainly no other country contempo- ' rary's supplement will; and the city papers will give their space to stories and articles by writers in other countries. The Star Supplement will contain threo stories, a long poem, and a reverie specially written by writers residing in the Feilding district, excepting one young authoress who lives in Queen Charlotte Sound. Here are the titles of the original contributions—•

"Aunt Mary's Christmas Dinner," a" really funny story of life on a farm, by Mrs E. Crandle, of Kimbolton. "The Joy of Jean," a lovo story by a young writer, Miss Ethel Beauchamp, ol Picton. -, "How I Got Him," a story of a rare and real experience, hy the editor of the Star. j "Christmas Bells," well-written reflections by A. 11. Brcmncr, of Feilding. i "Christmas Ode," a sincero tribute to the season, by John L. Mac- ' Donald, of Halcombe. 1 Tho policy of the Star has been and is to encourage local literary talent, ' and our columns havo proved over ] adn over again that young write:-:; havo not hesitated to try their 'prentico hand upon us. There could, however, be no better proof c'l'ored of tho influence of the .Star in this direction than the con ".onto of i heChristmas Supplement to be issued to-morrow. Do not forget it —get it 1
