, (Received Dec. 21, 8.45 a.m.) * Melbourne, December 21. in the Senate, in the course of the discussion of the postal estimates, members criticised.,the action of the Government in adopting an independent wireless system, and presaged that the Marconi and Telefunken companies are sure to bring actions tor -uilriiigement of their rights. The Postmaster-General reiterated his statement that if the Government is found to ho infringing anybody's rights, it i s prepared to meet them fairly. He trusted when the Senate met after the recess, that they will have the seaboard fitted with wireless stations, and with an absence of legal complications.
The Federal session closed after a busy sitting.
The House sat throughout yesterday night and again on "Wednesday till after midnight. It passed the Estimates, the Inscribed Stock Bill, the Public Service Bill, me Australian Notes Bill (which is an amendment to reduce the gold reserve on the notes iesue to 25 per centum), the Electoral Bill, the Bill lo appropriat e trust funds for old age pensions, and the Senate's amendments to the tariff.
The Senate passed the Loan Bill through committee, and the Pacific Cable Bill through all its stages, and the Appropriation Bill.
