NEW ZEALANDEItS AT HOME
London, November 10. Ihe Rev. H. D. A. Major, late of Si. John's College, Auckland, has just- been appointed Rector of Copgrove, a living in the gift of Admiral Sir Francis and Lady Bridgeman. The High Commissioner last Thursday evening opened the winter lecture season at the Browning Settlement, Walworth, with a lecture entitled "Glimpses of New Zealand," illustrated by a splendid series of nmolurht views.
Mr. Ihco. Trezise. of Wellington, has been engaged .for the next five mouths to imderst'ady at the new London Opera House, which opens on Monday next with "Quo Vadis?" Lord Phinket delivered a lecture on New Zealand afc Cheltenham recently under the auspices of the Victoria League.
Mr Arfhur Rhind. of Wellington, who has been staying in EiKdaiuh very shortly returns to New Zealand' while his brother. Mr Sydney Rhind', is starting a medical course at London university. Mr F. P. Worley, of Nelson, has been granted for a further term of owslnp, which he has held for the lowship, which he has held fo rthe past three years, with Professor Armstrong, at the Manchester University. _ The gross value of the fellowship is about £200 a year. Lady Stout has taken a. house at Hampstead for the winter, where one of her sous*, who is doing post graduate work in London hospitals, will live with her.
