CONVENT SCHOOL.
CONCERT AND PRIZE-GIVING
Last night, in the Drill Hall, the pupils of the Feilding Convent school gave their annual concert to a large and enthusiastic audience, when the following programme was submitted:—
Chorus, "Welcome," senior pupils; [ Pianoforte duet, "Sans Souci," Misses Wells, Andrews, Hosking, Wilson, Pryce, Walsh; Song, "Tardy Scholar," senior pupils; Irish jig, junior pupils; Pianoforte trio, "Canary Birds," Misses Wells, Eimis, Walsh, Fowler, Burett, Andrews Dunford (2), Redpath; play, "Toy shop," infant pupils; chorus, "Hush, 'tis the Twilight," senior pupils; pianoforts duet, "Gaiete of Heart," Misses Andrews, Fisher, Fowles, Oakley, Bui*nott,Smith; song, "Carissima," Miss Prior; drill, "Spanish," senior pupils; piaoforte trio, | "Gloria," Misses Fisher, Wells, Burnett, Hosking, Whitley, 'Oakley, ; Walsh, Ennis, Smith; song, '* Irish Lullaby," Miss Townsend. The concluding piece was a suitable little drama, "Miss Jemima's Pets," in which the following was thc_cast: Mies Jemima Walton (fond mals), Miss M. Median; Miss Walton (a widow), Miss Florence McLeod; Mary Walton (daughter), Miss May Plante; Agnes Walton (daughter), Miss Grace Christie; Mrs Thorn (Mrs Walton's friend), Miss Molly Burnett; Mrs Tinker (Miss Jermima's friend), Master John Kitchen; Peggy (Miss Jemima's servant), Master Henry McManaway; Martha Griffin (a needlewoman), Miss Sadie Wilson. The piece was well presented, and made a fitting finale to the concert. Mr E. Goodbehere (Mayor) then presented the prizes won during ithe year, as follows: —

Guthrie, M.P., who was present, made a short- speech, in which lie congratulated the young performers ami their teachers on the highly successful programme. Congratulations were also offered *o the prizewinners.
