Sydney, December 18. Interest in the first test match between Australia and the M.C.C. team is maintained, the third day's play attracting 13,000 spectators. Australia's first innings yielded 447 runs, and when stumps were drawn on Saturday tho Englishmen had lost four wickets for 142 runs, Hobbs (63) and Hearne (9) being not out. To-day the play resulted as follows:—
