THE SEASON.
Continued wet weather is not having the best possible effect in this district from the agricultural and pastoral point ol view. Stock are in fairly good condition, as there is plenty of grass, but sheep ami cattle aro not getting fat, the grass having a lack of substance. A spell, of sunshine is needed to put somo substance in it. Shearing is of course'being delayed by tne continued wet- weather this is occasioning some anxiety amongst farmers. The. grass and weeds are seeding, and a- danger arises of tlie seeds getting into the wool and depreciating its 'value. Dairymen aro fairly we'll satisfied with tho season, now that the heavy gales have ceased, though they too would appreciate some bright sunny weather.
