RONGOTEA.
At the beginning of the season this year the chairman, Mr Jas. Tennant, and the manager, Mr A. Cameron, of Glen Oroua Dairy Company, offered prizes for the best kept creamery belonging to the' company, of whicli there are six outside the main factory. Last- week they were finally judged by Mr ODea, Government Dairy Expert, and first prize, £10 presented by the Chairman, was awarded to Mr Alt'. Smith, manager of Carnarvon creamery, which was a popular win as Mr Smith, who was for years connected with the Rongotea Company in charge of the machinery and separator room, was always considered an able and careful employee. The second prize, £5 presented by the manager, was awarded to Mr E. W. Sharp, manager of Mangawhata creamery, Mr Sharp-deserves great credit 'for his work. The following are the results of tlie judging of the school gardens , kept by the scholars of the Rongotea 1 State School. The competition was very keen,- and the first prize for boat vegetable plot, kept by boys, went to Alfred Porson and" Alan Jones, and the best flower plot by girls went to Susio Vallender ' and Grace Dabb. The judging was carried out by Mr E. Farmer, head gardener at Mr Jas McKelvie's, Carnarvon, in the presence of Mr W. Jones, i chairman of the School Uommittee, and Mr P. (Kime, tho head teacher.
