The High Commissioner's report, dated London, December IG, is as follows : — Mutton.—Market firm, dull sale oi all qualities, but stocks on hand light, •and small shipments' are expected. Canterbury 4|d, North Island 4d. Lamb.—Better demand, 'Australian supplies necessary, N.Z. stock being exhausted. Australian Id to 4|d. Beef.—Market very firm. Shipments of North American not being made for three weeks, stocks of N.Z. on baud are light. N.Z. hinds 3gd, N.Z. fores 2^d. Butter.—Market firm and good demand. Average prices for the week for choicest N.Z. is 1325,. Australian 1275, Argentine 128s, Danish 13Ss, Siberian 1265. Cheese.—Market firm with more enquiry. The average price for the week for finest N.Z. cheese -9s. Hemp.—Market quiet and steady at about quotations already given. N.Z. good fair spot' '• £19 10s, N.Z. fair grade £19, fair current Manila £20, forward shipment N.Z. good fair £20, N.Z. fair grade £19, fair current Manila £20 10s. The output from Manila for the 'week is 26,000 bales. Wool.—Market remains firm for all grades. Wheat.—Market very quiet at last quotation, viz., longberried 35s Gd per quarter, shortberried 34s 6d per quarter. Oats.—Market firm with an improved demand. N.Z. short sparrow bills ex granary per quarter 3S4lbs 23s Gd, Danish ruarter 3201bs 19s Od. REPORT ON HORSE SALE. Messrs Abraham and Williams Ltd., report: At our horse sale held on Saturday the 16th December 1911 wo offered over 100 horses which met with a fair demand. Anything heavy sold well but lighter sorts avere hard to quit. We quote: Heavy drafts £32, .£35 to £3/• lighter £21. £21 10s to £27; unbroken light horses £3 to £10 10s; broken light horses £3 to £15; well bred unbroken light horses £13, £16 10 £16 10s.
