The request of a Hindu delegation from British Columbia, asking for the removal of the restriction in bringing over their families, has been granted, but no others will be allowed to benefit, except resident's in British Columbia. :
At "Winnipeg the elevators are full to the roofs with grain, and the railways are unable to deal with the congestion. Thousands of toivs of grain are stacked in the streets o.f the country towns, the owners being unable to ship it. _ Farmers in several places fought to be first to get their grain despatched. The loss will be heavy.
The second trial of Dr. Hyde for the murder of Colonel Thomas Swope by poisoning, ended in a mis-trial. One of the jurors escaped, and whtui captured he was found to be insane. The, jury was it hen discharged.
This case has excited a tremendous amount of interest, Dr. Hyde being the medical attendant of his yictim at San Francisco. ARCHDFKE AND A BOURGEOIS BEAUTY. Vienna, December 15. Premier Asquith, in the course of his -reply to a deputation from the National League, said if a referendum of men alone were taken, women would resent the verdict. Personally, ho was convinced that the enfranchisement of women would be a mistake of a very disastrous kind. He telt it was time tTiat- those holding strong views should take off their coats and put the case against suffrage cogently before the public. DELHI'S SENSATION. Tangier, December 15. Most of the Delhi's passengers escaped in a half-naked state. The natives did their best to relieve the passengers.
The Princess Royal's (the Duchess of Fife's) jewel case was lost.
Three lascars were drowned .while taking passengers through the surf. After the Duke of Fife and his family landed, almost all the boa is capsized owing to the lieavy surf. Tho passengers waded waist deep. The last party of passengers were rescued by means of the rocket apparatus.
(Received December 16, 9.40 a.m.) London, December 15. Queen Alexandra, whose daughter, the Duchess of fife, was on board the liner, .sent a telegram to M. Fallieres, expressing grateful thanks for the noble services of the French sailors at the Delhi wreck, and profoundly deploring tho sacrifice of the brave men who were drowned.
