The Rev. Bates telegraphed as folows:_" Westerly, moderate to strong, backing, and winds freshening after 36 hours; hazy and cloudy at times, hut indications for fair weather predominating; glass rise slowly, but fall after 36 hours, and expect unsettled and cloudy weather early next week."
