ON THE TERRACE END COURTS

Owing to tho rain on Saturday, ihe matches at the Terrace End" courts had to be postponed till' Monday. The final for the Handicap Singles was played between A. J. Trovena (Oroua) and Purcell (Terrace End), the former conceding 10 points. Contrary to general expectation, after a great struggle, Purcell won by three points. He deserved his win, however, for he played a fine game against his doughty opponent.

The handicap doubles resulted in a win for Ongley (Oroua) and Anderson (Terrace End) who had no trouble with their opponents.

The Ladies' Doubles were won by Misses D. Gould (Oroua) and l_erslake (T.E.).

During the afternoon a game was played between some of the Oroua B. team and the Terrace End B. team, resulting in a win for Terrace End by 64 games to 51. Only two Oroua ladies (Misses O. and V. Gould) took part, except in ono combined tumults in which Miss Andrews played.

The , results were (Oropa players being mentioned first): —

Men's Singles.— J. S. Tingey beat Jones, 7—5; W. Mills beat Gledhill ; 7—6; Redpath lost to McGrath, 3—7; Pirani lost to Donald, I—7. Men's Doubles.—Tingey and Pirani lost to Jones and Donald, 6—7; Redpath and Mills beat Gledhill and McGrath, 7—6 Mixed Doubles. —Tingey and Miss 0. Gould beat Jones and Miss E. Kerslake, 7 —5; Pirani and Miss V. Gould lost to Donald and Miss Watson, 6 —7; Redpath and Miss Andrews lost to McGrath and Miss Barker, 3—7.

Ladies' Doubles. —Misses 0. and V. Gould lost to Misses Kerslake and Watson, 4—7. The courts played well on Friday, but on Monday, after tho rain, they were dead and the ball hung considerably. Last evening a social was given in tho pavilion, and dancing, etc., was indulged in to the heart's content. The Feilding visitors were delighted with thoir hospitable treatment, and aro determined not to miss another such pleasant holiday when the -ha-nco con os.
