CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Wellington, Mardh 5. The Provincial Championship Swimming Meeting was held yesterday under unfavourable conditions. Results:

100 Yards.—C. Brice (Thomdon) 1, M. C. Stranger (Wellington) 2, B. C. Freyberg (Swifts) 3. Three others started. Won by a foot, inches between second and third. Time, 64 4-5.

440 Yards.—B. C. Freyburg (Swifts) 1, R. Healy (Thorndom) 2. Only starters. Freyburg took the lead from the start, and never appeared to be really pushed, winning by about seven yards. Time, 6.3. Clyde Quay School retained the Duthie Cup for 200 yards relay, which _ they have held since tho presentation some six years ago.
