MEETING OF GENERAL COMMITTEE. A meeting, of .the General Committee'of v the I'eilding'A. and P. Gorton. CORRESPONDENCE. Letters were laid before the meeting as follows: — Fro in' the North Otago A. and P. Association, stating they were holding a Horse Parade on October 1, and the Summer Show on November 17 and 18. From the Bush Districts A. and P. Association, stating their next Show would be held on January 25, 1911. From Mr G. C Wheeler, stating lies would be pleased to continue on the Committee. ■ : From the Hawke's Bay Central A. and P. Association, stating they regretted they could not alter their dates for next Show. From Mr Thos. Mackenzie, Minister of Agriculture, stating he had received the request from the Association for ;Mr C. J; Reakes to give a lecture on the "Diseases Affecting Dairy Cattle," but that, at the present time the Department was too busy to spaie Mi lteakes. The letter had ibeen sent on to Mr lleakes with a view to his meeting the request when it uas convenient. Flora the Duectoi of Feilding Technical School, offering the use of the school for lectures. From Mr Hugh Roberts, stating he would be pleased to arrange the musical progiammo foi the reception of Mr E Short. DONATIONS. The follow ing donations were received with thanks. Messrs J. Shortall £2 2s, C. Millen £2 2s, C. A. Banks £1 Is, E H. Fisher £2 2s, A. 11. Mayo 15s (special foi school gardens), 0. McElroy £1 Is (special for school gardens), Highland Dip manufacturers one case dip value £2 10s. MEMBERS. The following new members were elected: Messrs W. Rutherford. R. Shortall, G. Millen, "W. J. Entwistle, F; Pleasants, W. McLennan, H. Jtlurst. ...-.,.= . SHORT RECEPTION. The Secretary reported that the Committee set up for the purpose had decided to present Mr E. Short with an • alluniinated address and to give him a complimentary banquet. All details had been arranged. EXHIBITION. . sub-committee on.the proposed Exhibition, recommended that the Exhibition be held, in 1912, provided a three-fifths guarantee is found. It was. decided, that, before the report be adopted, the sub-committee be asked to furnish the Association with a : • comprehensive report of probable cost and amount of guarantee required for the proposal. GROUND IMPROVEMENTS. The Ground Committee recommended that a permanent structiire for the accommodation of home industries, produce, etc., and that they be authorised to erect additional yards, etc. The report was referred back to the Committee. - ■ FIXING DATE OF SHOW. Mr J.. Wilson proposed that all future Shows be held on the first Tuesday in. February , and the following day in each year. ' Seconded by Mr Hatggitt, and carried., ~.'... SCHOOL GAR-DEN COMPETITION.
• The Secretary read the conditions for the school, garden competition, and he was instructed to have them printed and circulated. The meeting then rose.
