The Senate adjourned its debate on tho amendment of Senator Givens (a Labourite) to reduce the vote towards the Federal capital by £1. This is an attempt to throw out the Yass-Can-berra site in favour of another site. It is expected that the voting will be very close.

In tho House of Representatives, a Bill was introduced by Mr Bamford providing for the division of the Commonwealth into sixteen provinces, each province to return three Senators and six members of the Lower House, in place of tho State Parliaments, hi place of which it is proposed to establish Provincial Councils with smaller powers.
