Port .Darwin, September 14. An expedition which examined the Islands off the Aorth Coast of Australia reports that they contain pleuty oi permanent fresh water, a fair proportion oi good soil, good timber, splendid grass, and a plentiful supply oi edible birds and wild pigs. They are free of insect pests, and the cliuiato is cool compared with that ol the mainland. There is evidences that lew natives have visited the Islands.
Brisbane, September 14. The railway revenue'for the year ended June 30, was £2,338,468, an increase oi" £235,349, the percentage ot revenue upon capital extended being £3 15s lid, a shilling more than that of the previous year.
