RUGBY UNION MEETING
The Manawatu Llugbv Union Management Committee met last evening. Present—Messrs lloljen (president), Manning, Pawson. Armstrong, Pickett. McWilliams, and Hankins. Correspondence was received from the Wairarapa Union .'as to phi vers against Wairarapa at 'Carterton' on September 24, from Horowhenua as to the B team playing there September 14, and the juniors September 17. It was considered that in view of the rush of the dairy season preventing a number oi representative players getting away, and the fact that others were laid up with injuries that the AVairarapa and Horowhenua Unions be informed that" there would be much difficulty in (getting teams awa\at this time that tiiis Union regrets that the fixtures in question must stand over till next season. SMOKE CONCERT. Messrs Hankins, Midler, and the secretary were appointed to make arrangements ro the smoke concert which it is proposed to wind up the season on the 2-ltli inst. Entries close tor the seven-a-side championship (_!th) on the 17th inst. FOXTON PROTEST. The appeal from the Awahou Club -against the decision of tbe Foxton Sub-Union was thrown out. DISQUALIFICATION. The New Zealand Union, forwarded a list of .disqualifications, including one of a Horowhenua player for failing, to turn up with' the rep. team or notify the Union in time.
