He came in for a lot of heckling over the Coercion Act, and the imprisonment of the strike leaders, but, on the whole, he was given a lair hearing. Defending the Coercion Act. he declared that whether a Liberal or a Labour Government was. in power, the law must prevail, even at the cost of the suffering ol many hearts.
