[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] A MAN DROPS DEAD. Eltham, April 26. Elijah Frei, aged 49 years, a surfaceman employed on the railways between Eltham and Hawera, dropped dead this morning at the scene of his work. He had been complaining of pains about the region of the heart. He resided at Normanby, and leaves a wife and family. THOSE FIRES IN NEW PLYMOUTH, New Plymouth, April 20. Another outbreak of fire occurred at 2.30 o'clock this morning in the X T ew Zealand Express Company's cart shed. The building and two expresses and a dray were destroyed. The loss is estimated at about £145. The X T ew .Zealand" Insurance Company had £350 on the carrying plant and £25 on the building. The adjoining premises had a narrow escape, as a high wind was blowing. A commercial traveller's samples on one express awaiting delivery this morning were also destroyed.
