The Feilding Star. Oroua and Kiwitea Counties' Gazette. FRIDAY, APRIL 1, 1910. More Weather.

Again Feilding has reason to be thankful on account of the weather, for there has been further trouble in other parts of the Dominion, whilst w& have had nought but a cold snap and just enough wet to fill the tanks along our countryside. Even Rotorua, the resort of the tourist, who visited the Wonderland in big crowds during this Eastertide, was struck by the cyclone, and some.damage was done to the beauty spots of the State's town, whilst trains due overnight did not arrive until next morning. Auckland had a bad time, and the telegraph wires were blown down -along the Waikato. Waihi, Te Aroha, and Paeroa suffered severely. liawke's Bay also had a had time. The latest news .tells us that the gale has blown itself out in the Audklahd district, that the flood waters are subsiding in Hawke's Bay, and that the gale lias passed on south. From Nelson comes the jubilate: "The weather has been beautiful ever since Easter 1" Only the Thames still suffers from the storm's stress and strain, as will be seen by a- telegram received from Paeroa this morning, and which is published in another column. Meanwhile, the sun shines over Feilding, and •we hope that there is a silver lining this afternoon to Paeroa's black cloud.
