NO-LICENSE.

MANAWATU EXECUTIVE COUNCIL. THE ALLIANCE RECOGNISES ONLY ONE BODY. At a special meeting of this Council, held at Bulls, apologies for absence were received from Messrs Robinson. Smith and Whibley (Foxton), Wechsing (Rongotea), Gomez and Mclndoe (Marton), and the Rev. G. Frost (Sandon). The business for the convened meeting was (1) to receive report ol' Council's deputation to the Alliance Executive in regard to a proposal which had been made to divide the eletcorate and form another No-Li-cense Council, and (2) to hear a statement on the subject from that Executive. The Rev. J. Dawson and Mr W. H. Holmes represented the Executive, and in the course of their statement made it perfectly clear that there could only be one No-License Council within the bounds of the electorate and form another No-Li-tive could only recognise one governing body, and that was the present No-License Council, which had been duly constituted. Tho deputies further stated that while the Executive could not interfere with the domestic affairs of the Council, they had some recommendations which they would submit to the Council for its consideration.
