The Dominion Government is advancing £12,200,000 to the montreal Harbour Commission to provide additional facilities for ports. CANON TUPPER. London, March 15. The Archbishop of York has appointed the Rev. A. D. Tupper a canon. The rev. gentleman intends to devote himself to mission work, and will sail on June 16 for New Zealand, where he will carry on a three month's mission of help. GENBRAL FRENCH IN AMERICA Ottawa, March 15. In the Canadian House of Commons, Sir F. Borden, Minister for Defence, said that the visit of General French was only semi-otßoial, and had no special reference to any moibilisation scheme. General French would, however, be given every facility to inspect the militia. AUSTRALIA'S SECOND DESTROYER. (London, March 15. Dennys will launch the second Aus-_-tsaMan destroyer on. April 9. The ceremony of christening this latest addition to the Australian fleet will be performed by Sir George Reid. LADY DUDLEY. Lady Dudley is approaching convalescence. GEORGE REID AGAIN. A banquet given by the Colonial Institute in honour of Sir George Reid was a brilliant affair, 278 guests being, present, including many distinguished men.
