MR SHOUT'S SHEEP.

THE ARGENTINE EXHIBIT

MR. lIIDDIFORB MAKES A SUG*

GESTION.

In a letter, to iJhe Romney Marsh Sheep Breeders' Association, from, which he has given us permission to make extracts, Mr B.J. Riddiford, of the Hutt, writes regarding the sheep which. Mr Ernest Snort is sending to the _ Argentine. After referring to his inspection of the rams and ewes, Mr Riddiford writes: — "I consider some notice 'should be taken by all breeders of Romney Marsh sheep, for it is a most praiseworthy xindffrrtaking on the part of Mr bhort, and really a. very great advertisement for the Romney Marsh breeders—sheep which have become famous in New Zealand, and, indeed, a breed of their own. Tie sheep (20) are first-class in e*ery respect. To my mind, their equal to-day cannot be, found as a line in. New Zealand. Mr Short is> certainly parting with his best sheep. Their physique is wonderful. I understand from Mr Short that his object is to convince the people of South. America, what New Zealand can produce. I consider Mr Short is entitled to the support we oa.n render him, as it is a very g rea ,t undertaking, and certainly a most expensive business for ;V m - f>>pe the Association will give the subject of my letter every consideration, and recognise that a great step is being taken, for the advancement ot the Breeders' Association. I leave the Dominion, without expressing my views. IVSW you please be ' wg j i*i, \ approach Str Joseph Ward and the Minister of Agriculture with a view to learn what facility the Government will render in defraying the expense when stock .are exported from New Zealand. I think x t unfair for one man to nay thewhole cost when so many others Vill benefit by it." j
