HOSPITAL BOARD.
THE MONTHLY MEETING
The monthly meeting of the aboi-c Board ivas held at the Board's offices yesterday, the following members heing in 'attendance: —Alessrs J. G. Wilson (chairman), C. Voss, L. R. Bryant, W. Stubbs, D. Howie, J. H. N'iucent, H. FoAi'ler, G. Kendall, and J. A. Na.h. The Matron reported: .Patients in Hospital February 1, .7; admitted during the mouth, 4-1; total 81; discharged cured, 29, relieved, 4; not relieved, 3; left against order, I; died. 3; in Hospital March .1. 1.10, ■ 41. The Department of Public Health wrote, stating that a consumptive patient had been discharged on account of insubordination, and aa;is uoav in the "Wailcato Hospital, pending decision of the Pa liner, ton North Hoard. — It ivas decided to give Dr. Valintine full particulars in connection avith this case, the members being of opinion that the Board Avere not liable for his nia'nit.nanco. The Wellington Hospital Board wrote asking if the Board ivould ' guarantee .maintenance of F. AY. Wray at the Otaki Sanatorium. —Decided that the Board was not favourable to Wray going to Otaki, as there was already accommodation here for such patients. The I'oxton Pre.bvteri-.ui Church forwarded -a donation' of £2 9s 6d. The Halcombe 'Town Board asked what steps should be taken, to get •las. Keen into Wanganui Old Men's Home.—Loft in Mr'Aisher's hands, with poAver to act. Messrs I). Howie, \Y. C). Pearce, H. Fowler, W. Stubbs, and G. Kendall wrote, agreeing to defer calling application for position of secrotary until, after this .meeting, applications to he called for in the Palnierston, l'V'ikling, and Foxton pajiers—to he in by March 31. Mrs J. A. Na.h wrote stating that the All. Nations Fair Committee expected to hand over about £700 (aiKirt i'rom the Government subsidy), as the proceeds of the Fair, and asking that the Board take the nc._.- ' sary steps to have the erection of the consumptii-es' annexe proceeded with as soon as possible.—lt was decided to write thanking Mrs Nash and her assistants for their great efforts, and to apply to the department .for permission to erect an annexe at a cost not to exceed £1.0, the Board to? select a site that clay. The site chosen is at the end of the ivomen's Avard, in. the adjoining paddock. The annexe Avill.be divided from the main luiihling by a high m.erocarpn hpd_;e. Tiie ground has recently been laid out and_ commands a fine outlook for the patients. Dr. Wilson fonvarded his resignation as a hospital surgeon, and itMas decided to- accept it.
