MR PALMER'S REPORT
Mr Harry Palmer reports a fair entry of pigs of all classes. There was a firm demand and every line was sold at improved prices. Porkers showed an increase on last week's quotations. Wo had a very heavy entry of poultry and prices showed a decided increase. There was a keen demand for pullets, which sold remarkably well considering the quality and size. We had over 600 cases or fruit to sell and the whole was cleared out at good average prices. J. he market for potatoes is firming, H , V IS , f<)r .-sound prime samples free of blight. Onions are coming forward more plentiful but are still holding at one penny per lb. Tomatoes have hardened m price. We quote: Pigs: Weanem 3s 9d, 4s, ss, 5s 6d, 6s, slips 6s, 6s 6d, 7s 6d, Bs, stores 10s, 12s, porkers 15s 6d, £ls, £1 3s 6d. Poultry: Hens 2s, 2s 6d, 3s, 3s 6d, average 3s, pullets 4s to 5s 6d, half grown to prime 2s to 5s 6d k , chicks 9d to 2s, ducks 3s, 3s 6d, 4s, geese 2s to 3s, hen and chicks 3s.
