Autumn Meeting to-day the course is a trifle holding, there is a good attendance, but the weather is threatening. Results: — Tradesmen's Handicap. — Chanteuse 1. Delegate 2, DunLorne 3. Scratched : Carl Rosa, Advocate. Bully, Nectie, Freevata and Hycia. Won by half a head. Time, 2.12. RICOARTON TRAINING NOTES. Christchurch, April. 9. It was a dull morning; for training atßiccarton. The tr/acks were in good order, and most of the work was done on the plough. Broadsword, in a working gallop in the dawn covered 6 furlongs. Glenculloch took 2.11 2-sths over a mile and a quarter. Flitaway went five furlong, but it was too dark to take accurate time. Chief Lochiel and Harvest galloped a mile in 1.46. Thistledown did half a mile in 49 3-sth sec. Whitecraft did better than Orsini over a mile in 1:44. Tikitere had the best of Osiris over a mile and a quarter in 2.13 3-sth sec. Petrovna covered half a mile in 50 3-sth sec. Bollin did better than Diamond Star over a mile in. Jl-445. Lady Disdain covered 7furlorigs in 1.30. Contender and Tremulous were abreast at the end of half a mile in 49 3-sth sec.
After breakfast Provocation covered half a mile in 49 J. Boutade and Freak finished together over half a mile in 52. Czar and Kolohol went 7 furlongs in 1.30. All Gun and Cymbriform did a mile on the grass in 1.44 l-sth sec. Tumut and Consolation were abreast at the end of 6 furlongs in 1.15 3-sth sec. Vladimir ran 5 furlongs from a standing start in 1.3. The other horses were given useful gallops.
