A violent shock of earthquake was experienced at Messina on Wednesday night. (Received April 9, 8.45 a.m.) Rome, April 8. King Emanuel and Queen Elena are indignant at the condition of affairs at Messina. The place Is as yet .without a thoroughfare or habitable dwellings, beyond huts and! railway carriages. There is no water, and no artificiafl light; neither ia there sanitation. Swarms of flies are carrying the germs of disease everywhere.
