The steamer Hero, from Bristol, collided with and sank the destroyer Blackwater, off Dungeuess, during the night. The crew were saved. Melbourne, April 8. The barque BlenEeim has arrived, after being 14 days out from Devonport, Tasmania. She experienced terrible weather, all the sails being carried away. She thrice narrowly escaped being wrecked on a lee shore. The crow were unable to take their clothes off the whole time. The two engines (unattached to waggons), each carrying three tons of coal, backed into eacE" other at Spencer-street station. They met with terrific force, and lumps of coal and iron were thrown high into the air and into the cats of the engines, striking the drivers and firemen. Fireman Morrah received severe injuries to the head, and is detained in the hospital. The driver of the other engine and two firemen were slightly injured. Both engines were badly smashed.
