The Departmental Board of Inquiry mto the Braybrook accident, which occurred with considerable loss of life on April 20, 1908, found that Enginedriver Milburn was guilty on each of five charges. Driver Dolman, Firemen Tomlinson and Debeny, and Guard D'Arcy were found not guilty. Stationmaster Kendall was found guilty with a recommendation to mercy. Milburn and Kendall were dismissed the service, with right to appeal. The others will be reinstated. UNFAIR COMPETITION. A deputation waited unon Premier Fisher at Cairns and pointed out that ■•»- banana growers had to contend agamst a Victorian subsidised lino bringing bananas from Fiji to Brisbane. Mr Fisher expressed doubts whether the subsidy was constitutional, and said that if inquiries proved this the subsidy would be stopped. PLAGUE IN SYDNEY. Sydney, April 8. A woman has been attacked by plague. She was employed in George Street West. Two more cases of plague have - been reported, one in Clarence-street and one in George-street. FINE WEATHER.
