HOTEL ON FIRE,

A LIVELY TIME FOll SOME VISITORS. [per press association.] Christchurch, April 5. The Waiau Hotel, which was crowded with visitors, was destroyed by fire yesterday morning. There were many narrow escapes, but no lives were lost. Mr Val. Vousden, the well-known entertainer, jumped from the balcony. He escaped injury, with the exception of some slight burns on his body. There are no further details.
