Notes and Comments.
In our editorial article yesterday on the closer organisation of Feilding and district with regard to sports and pastimes, we observed that in football and cricket Feilding had "been getting neither respect -nor consideration from the controllers of the game" in Palmerston. This comment has been further justified by the action ; of the Committee of the Manawatu : Cricket Association. That body decid- ' ed to have the name of the Terrace I End Club engraved on the Barraud Cup above the name of the Feilding '. Club. Why? The Barraud Cup was , only available last year, and Feilding , is the only club that is entitled to have its name engraved thereon. Terrace End beat the Feilding team ] season before last-, but that was for another trophy. Where is that tro- < phy now? It looks suspiciously like "working a point" to set the name of i a Palmerteon Club on the topmost , place upon a trophy that has not yet. i been won by any but a Feilding team. '.
