FIRE BRIGADE.
ITS MONTHLY MEETING. The usual meeting of the Feilding ■ Fire Brigade was held last night. Present : Superintendent Say well, Deputy-Superintendent Jones, Foreman Stringer, Firemen Kitchen, Harford, Marston, Newman, Fisher, Richardson, Matthewß, Groube, Messenger Sporle, and Secretary Fitz- ' gerald. - Correspondence was received from Fireman Hagenson, tendering his re. signation owing to his leaving the town. From U.F.8.A., re competition boots. From same with reference to Fireman Kitchen's service star. From same, with reference to the insurance of the Brigade being under the Fire Board. From the Feilding Braes_ Band, enclosing complimentary ticket to social on February 10. It was moved by Superintendent SaywelT and seconded by Fireman Kitchen, that Fireman Hagenson's resignation be accepted with regret. —Carried. It was resolved on the motion of the secretary, that Superintendent Saywell represent the Fire Brigade at the Feilding Brass Band social. It was resolved, on the motion of Fireman Newman and Foreman Stringer, that Master Walter Fisher be recommended to the Fire Board as Brigade Messenger. After the meeting a run was made with the hose cart, the first being I dry practice on plug 93 at the junction of Manchester and Grey streets. Afterwards a wet practice was held in Kimbolton road, plug 29 being used, from which two leads were I taken.
The Superintendent and DeputySup., stated that they were very pleased with the work done.
