BURNSIDE STOCK MARKET.
Dunedin. December 22. The following is tne report of the weekly stock sale at Burnside: — Fat cattle: 112 head yarded, mostly comprising medium-weight bullocks and heifers. Prioes at the beginning of the sale were slightly better than last week's, but as proceedings progressed the demand slackened, and at the end cattle were almost unsaleable. Best bullocks, £9 10s to £10 10s; medium, £7 10s to £8 10s; heifers, £4 10s to £6 10s. Sheep : 1060 were yarded— a oomparitively small yarding, but the supply was quite sufficient for the demand. Prices were a shade easier for wethers, but those for prime ewes showed a marked advance on last week's rate. Wethers, 17s 6d to 18s 9d; extra, to 20s 6d_ medium, 15s 6d to 16s 6a ; best ewes, 13s 9_ to 16s 6d. Owing to the season's demand, "and the fact that graders were operating in rape, lambs' prices only receded about ls in prime quality, and 2s 6d for unfinished sorts. Best lambs, 12s 6d to 17s ; extra theory, to 20s 3d ,- medium, 12s 6d to 13s 6a; unfinished sorts, 10s to lis 9d. Pigs: 200 yarded. Small pigs were in. very large supply, and prices were, in consequence, easier for all sorts. Suckers, 16s to 20s; slips. 22s to 265; stores, 30s to 38s; porker, 40 to 48s; baconers, 40s to 48s; baconers, 50s to 62s 6d.
