FEILDING FIRE BOARD.
* ♦ The statutory yearly meeting of the Feilding Fire Board was held yesterday. Present — Messrs Fred. Pirani (chairman), W. J. B. Trewin, W. A. L. Bailey, and H. Tolley. The Chairman explained that as the business was almost entirely formal, the Wellington representatives would not bo in attendance. On the motion of Mr Trewin, seconded by Mr Bailey, Mr Froi Pirani was re-elected Chairman. Four applications were received for the position of secretary, and Mr J. B. Pickering was appointed to the position, on the motion of Mr Tre.via, seconded by Mr Bailey. A letter was received from the Miaister for Internal Affairs, approving of the estimates of expenditure *or the year. A letter was received from ihe Under-Secretary (Mr Hugh Pollen), notifying the appointment of Mr T. T. Hugo as Inspector of Fire Brigades for the colony, and asking the Board to furnish him with any information and assistance required. Copies of forms giving particulars .ifVfires were forwarded, with a request' that they should be filled in and returned once a year. Mr Hugo was introduced to the members of the Board, and inspected the station and property.
