Insurgent Arabs on the banks of the Tigris subjected the British steamer Blosselynch to a heavy riflefire. A Turkish patrol steamer accompanying the Blosselynch returned the insurgents' fire. Two of the Blosslynch's passengers were killed and sevoral wounded. In response to Great Britain's emphatic demand for redress, the Porto promises to punish the aggressors.
