A fire in the Drury Lane Theatre to-day was confined to the stage, through the safety curtain. Much scenery was destroyed, and the damage is estimated at £75,000. BRITISH PREMIER'S CONDITION. (Received March 26, 8.33 a,m.) London, March 25. Sir Henry CampbeU-Bannerman is still weak, and considerable anxiety is felt regarding his condition. LAING AND SONS' FAILURE. (Received March 26, 8.51 a.m.) London, March 25. Messrs Barclay and Company, bankers, who are creditors to the extent of a quarter of a million, are petitioning for the compulsory winding-up of Messrs Laing and Sons' firm. The Barclay Company allege that a bal-ance-sheet of 1906, showing large profits, induced them to advance £100,---000. Messrs Laing and Sons imme-* diately paid a dividend of 50 per cent., and Barclay's bank in July last advanced another £100,000, £5000 more last February, Laing and Sons suspending payment three days later. Messrs Laing and Sons allege that they bad unexpected losses exceeding £200,00Q, which the Bank know of. Tho case is proceeding.
