Pahiatua, March 24. The New 'Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., and. Messrs Abraham and Williams, held their sales yesterday, when there was a fair yarding of all lines. The weather was showery, and prices lower in consequence. Two and 4-tooth ewes made 15s 6d ; aged ewes, 8s; lambs, 7s 6d; cull lambs. 3s, ss; wethers, 2, 4-tooth, lis lOd. Cattle.— Weaners, 10s 6d ; 3J-year bullocks, 80s, 90s ; cows with calves, 355; aged cows, 20s; springing heifers, .60s.- The sale had a dragging tendency all through, and a number of lines, both of sheep and cattle, were passed in owing to prices not reaching vendors' ideas. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report : — On Thursday last we held a clearing sale on behalf of Mr W« Franklin, at Turakina. Notwithstanding the rough weather we had • a very good attendance, and made an . excellent clearance. Quotations: — " F.m. ewes, 4s 6d to 5s lQd; lambs, 5s 9d to 6s ; draught horses, £20 10s, £23, £33 10s to £43 10s; drill. £27; roller, £27 15s; d.f. ploughs, £10, £11 ; binder, £10 ; dray, £13 ; and a long list of sundries at good prices. Dalgety and Co., tLd., report having their Hunterville sale on the 24th iust., when they had a fair yarding . of sheep and a small yarding of catr tie. The following are the principal sales: — 2 tooth wethera lis 3d, ewe lambs 6s 6d, 2J to 3 year bullocks £3 16s, aged draught horses £14, 3 year light draught norses passe dat £35, team working bullocks £4 15s.
