A few firps have conceded the demands, r" The wharf laborers' strike conference was continued to-day,, and after an adjournment the Press representatives were informed that the position was not any more critical than yesterday . A definite statement as to whether there will be peace or an indefinite continuation of the struggle will probably be given to-morrow afternoon. There is reason to believe, howover, that tho position is somewhat improved. The Deep Sea Stevedores' Association has issued summonses againstf fourteen members of the "Wharf Laborers' Union for breaches of the award (Received March 25, 10.37 a.m.) Sydney, March 25. Thirty-five steamers are laid up as the result of the coastal strike.
