Some of the games in the first round of the pairs matches at the bowling tournament have been played, the following being the results: — Currie and Simonds (23) beat Calder and Bartlett (18), Hollings and Cochrane (21) beat Parker and Har. ston (18), Cowell and Williams (20) beat Bell and Sutcliffe (19), Gooder and Porteuos (26) beat Bristy and Badley (24), Revs. J. A. Asher and J W. Haywood (21) beat Patterson and Patterson (19), Williamson and Ricketts (32) beat Townsend and Ewington (15), Hall and Smith (24) beat Wooiey and Hunt (15).
