• STOCK MARKET. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on Johnsonville sale as follows: — A poor. entry of cattle, including some extra prime heavy bullocks, some light prime bullocks, and medium quality light heifers. The market was fairly keen. Beef made 22s for heavy, 23s for lighter heifers; extra heavy bullocks, £10 12s 6d to £10 17s 6d; others, £9 to £10 10s ; light £7 5s to £8; heifers, £6 12s There was a heavy yarding of sheep, mostly wethers. The quality was mostly prime. Best wethers 23s to 23s Bd, others 23s 4d to 22s Id, light 20s 5d to 20s 8d to 21s 6d, merino 20s Id, ewes (Downs) 32s Id. wethers 23s lOd. prime ewes 20s, light 16s 3d.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., insert full particulars of the sale to be held on behalf of Mr William Davis, Rongotea. Mr Davis has been dairying n the district a number of years, and has always carefully and systematically culled his herd, with the result that he now has one of the finest lots of cows in the district. The cows are timed to calve early and, as they are nearly all young, they should command the attention of buyers. In all, there will be 100 head offered besides a good 4-year draught mare, some young bulls and picked weaner heifers. The sale starts at 12 o'clock noon, and luncheon will be provided.
