CONCERT AT RONGOTEA.
■ t The Church of England concert held at Rongotea last night was most successful. The attendanoe was good, and there was nothing wanting in the arrangements. Tne concert opened with a comedy, entitled "A Day in Paris," which was very well staged and conducted, bringing considerable credit to the amateurs of Rougotes. The comedy was screamingly tunny, and was thoroughly enjoyed by tt\« audience. The second half of the programme comprised musical select* tions. An item entitled "Professor Meston's Musicphone" was aa innovation. This instrument was rather a mystery, and was capable of some astonishing feats in the music line. Other items were: Vocal duet, the Misses Beckman; songs, by Mr R. Amesbury, Miss Barley (encored) ; vocal duet, Messrs J. Penny and W. J. Pye (encored) j and eong, Mr T. Me_ton. After the concert, refreshments were handed round, and the floor cleared for round games, etc. The ■whole gathering was very enjoyab'c. and the Rev. H. F. Wilson and his . rssistants have good reason to be pleased with the result of the effort. The church funds will considerably benefit as a result of the concert.
