TRAINING NOTES.

Auckland, May 29. Work at Ellerslie this morning was of an unimportant nature. AD the horses were confined to steady pacing. ■ Romany King was tried over the big fences, and stopped twice at the sod wall; he jumped the double solvenly. The horse looks light. Ben Johnson, and Landlock were sent around schooling over the hurdles, the former giving the best display till the last fence but one, which he struck and came down, suffering no injury. The following horses arrived yesterday:— Sammy, Cavalry, Waitarere, Nestator. Delania, Regulation, Vizier, The Dans, Irish, Aqua Regia, Engraver, Merriwai, Mangitoto, Evenlode, Romary King, while Le Beau arrived this morning, and a large number are expected to-mor-row. With fine weather, the meeting promises to be a record.
