CHELTENHAM.

(Onr Own Correspondent.) The Cheltenham Rifle Club fired the second competition for Mr Stuart's medal on Saturday in a howling gale that brought down one of the targets at the 600 yards.

The Club will fire for the McCorkindale Cup on Saturday. A match will be shot on the Cheltenham Range between the Manchester Rifles .and a combined team of the Kimbolton and Cheltenham Rifle Clubs on June 15th, twelve men aside. I The Cheltenham Branch of the Farmers' Union held their annual meeting in the hall on Saturday. Present, Mr W. Mills in the chair, J. Brue, W. Stretton, A. and J. Barrow, J. Kilgour, J. Hare, J. Mayo, and the secretary, J. S. Mills. The balance-sheet was read and showed a credit of £7 15s lid. The following officers were elected for the year:— President, J. Hare; vice-pre-sident, James Barrow ; committee, A. Barrow, C. E. Johnston, J. Bruce, A. Conway, J. R. Johnston, W. Mitchel, A. C. Levett, G. Mayo, J. S. Mills (sect.), C. B. Johnston (auditor). The Cheltenham Literary and Debating Club have taken the large room at the back of the Hall for the winter months, and the room is open every night where all sorts of games are played, and all the latest books and papers are on the tables. A card match will l>e played between the cluh and the Rifle club, eight men aside, at an early date. I don't see the footballers practising or having any matches this season.
