FEILDING MARKET REPORT.
A. H. Atkinson and Co. report: — Owing to the heavy rain which fell eaily on Friday morning, the usual entry of pigs did not oome forward. Prices were quite up to last week. A large entry of fowls came to hand. Prices were easier, as the supply exceeded the demand. Produce came to hand in large quantities and sold well . * Quotations : — Horses. — Aged harness horses, £1 16s 6d to £7 2s 6d. Pigs.— Weaners, 7s 6d; slips, 8s to 8s 6a; stores, 14s 6d; porkers, 235: empty sow, 335. Poultry.— Cockerels, Is to 2s 6d; hens, 9d to Is 7d ; ducks, 2s sd : p.b. Wyandotte hens, 4s; all at each. Produce. — Potatoes, 7s to 9s 9d per sack; prime onions, Id per lb; inferior, §a per lb; marrows, small, 2s 3d to 3s 2d per sack; horse caiv rots, 5s per sack; Swedes, 3s sack: pumpkins, id per lb; barley, 2s lOd per bushel ; factory bacon, sides, 7jd ; hams, 7fd. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Feilding, draw special attention to their Apiti sale on Tuesday next. Present entries comprise 1000 lambs, 360 ewes in lamb, 200 forward two-tooth wethers, and 160 head cattle. Included in the latter are a particularly good line of 60 18-month steers, good colours and in good condition. Sale starts at 12 30 sharp.
