[PBB PRBSS ASSOCIATION.] ' Auckland, May 20. A five-year-old son of Mr Geo. Hoc- ' wood was drowned in the river at Huntly. He was playing with another boy, John Kelly, in a canoe, whioh capsized. Both boys were thrown into the river, but Kelly got ashore without giving an alarm until he reached home. The river was draggel, and the body found, but life was extinct. Dargaville, May 20. Matthew Robison, an elderly man fell overboard and was drowned from the steamer Waiwera between here and Grahamsfern at nine on Saturday night. He has not been recovered. Gisborne, May 20. Frederick Turner Manger, wharf ( laborer, died suddenly this morning. Last week he complained of a sore finger ,and yesterday his condition was so bad that two doctors were summoned. They refuse to give a certificate of death, and an inquest will be held.
