RONGOTEA NOTES.

(Our Own Correspondent.) Mr David Bruce, proprietor of the Victoria Boarding houso, at Rongotea, died yesterday afternoon. The deceased gentleman, who was 65 years of age, had been in failing health for along time past, and passed away at his home at 1.30. The late Mr Bruce, accompanied by his wife, arrived in Rongotea about eighteen months ago from Eketihtma, and during their sojourn here earned the respect and esteem of a very wide circle of friends. It is with extreme regret that I have to chronicle the death of Mrs Lynch (nee Miss Mary Dalton) which sad event occurred at her parents' residence here last evening. Great sympathy will Le felt for the bereaved parents and husband, not only in Rongotea, but throughout the whole district. The deceased was married at Feilding in July of last year and had lived with her husband on the Company's line until a week ot* so ago. The funeral takes place at Rongotea to-morrow. The funeral of the late Mr Bruce takes place on Sunday. Deceased \ ill be interred in *>ne Palmerston ccrtetery. It is currently reported at Rongotea that Mr E.
