THE PRICE OF FLOUR.

ANOTHER ADVANCE OF 10s PER TON. [pee fbess association.] Dunedin, May 16. The Otago Daily Times states that the directors of the N.Z. Flourmillers' Association at their ordinary monthly meeting held in Christshurch, decided to advance the price of flour | by another 10s per ton, making a I total rise of £1 per ton within a week. The reason for this rise is obviously the advance in the price of flour in the Commonwealth, thus making importations from that source prohibitive. It has been a matter of oommon knowledge that the possibili- J ty of the importation of Australian I flour has been a factor militating against any advance in the New Zealand commodity, despite the gradual hardening of the wheat market. Now, however, that wheat is hardening all over the world an advance has been established in Australia, and should the excitement continue the outlook is • for higher prices for flour and bread ■ throughout the winter. ■ -_i_B_Ba_-aH-B-(-<_—MB->
